Salary: £ 16500
A 6 month, part-time internship, funded by the Headley Trust, to provide experience in archaeological finds identification and recording for a graduate interested in a career in museums or archaeology. You will be required to research archaeological objects (including flint, pottery, coins, and metal artefacts), take and edit photographs, then create records of the objects on the PAS database. You may also be required to assist at outreach events, which may be at evenings or weekends.
You will have a good degree in archaeology or a related subject, or equivalent relevant expertise. Competence in artifact identification, an awareness of the issues involving metal detecting and archaeology, the ability to collect and collate information and data and a flexible approach to working are also required.
