February 17-20, 2012 (Presidents' Day weekend)
Honolulu, Hawai`i
Co-sponsored by the Marine Option Program, University of Hawai`i at Manoa, NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries and the Maritime Archaeology and History of the Hawaiian Islands (MAHHI) Foundation
Conference Theme:
Diving into History
Technical and Sport Exploration of Shipwrecks
Paper topics are not limited to this theme but special consideration will be given to abstracts that incorporate this message. Tentative session titles include:
•Underwater cultural resource heritage in the main Hawaiian Islands
•Resource management: what it is now, what it wants to be
•Sportdiving and education
•General sessions on maritime archaeology and maritime history
ABSTRACTS should be no more than 300 words and include a title, name(s) of presenters and affiliation. All presenters will be expected to register for the conference.
Deadline for Abstracts is November 1, 2011
Abstract submission form available online. Please email your abstract and contact information to: Suzanne Finney at finney[at]mahhi.org
