Experienced Field Archaeologist looking for work in NorthEast/MidAtlantic Area

battlestamps

Hello!

I am currently seeking an archaeological field position as a field technician or crew chief in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic area of the United States. I have been working in the field of archaeology professionally since 1994 after receiving my B.A. in Anthropology from University of Maryland. Since 1994, I've excavated at numerous short and long term Phase I, II and III projects in a multitude of states: New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Washington D.C., West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Texas and Kansas. I've worked on both pre-contact and historic sites including three major historical cemetary excavations. I have also worked as a crew chief in Indiana for John Milner Associates on a major Phase I pipeline project in Indiana in 2007 where I learned to use a Trimble GPS device. In the last two years I've been working with Hartgen Archeological Associates and John Milner Associates in New York and Vermont.

Professionally, I work in a timely manner while upholding accuracy and attention to detail within my excavations, artifact and feature identification and note and map records. I work well with others in a group as well as solo. I have and can work in a variety of difficult conditions from wet to dry to hot to cold and from urban to rural.

I currently live near Albany, New York and can work projects locally to me or seasonal projects further away if if per diem and housing is availible. I have my own transportation.

I would like to have the opportunity to discuss my qualifications over the phone or via email and would like to find out more about job opportunities within your company. If you are interested, please contact me and I can forward my full resume with references. You may contact me at 518-205-5080 or e-mail at battlestamps@yahoo.com.

Sincerely,

William Battles
