Kennesaw State University, the Georgia State Historic Preservation
Office, and New South Associates have organized a conference, Advanced Metal Detecting for Archaeologists.
The event will be held October 7 and 8, 2011, in Helen, Georgia. The
conference will feature presentations, hands-on training, demonstrations
of new technology by factory representatives, a round-table discussion
on standards for archaeological metal detecting, and a keynote lecture
by Dr. Doug Scott. Attendance will be limited to 50 to assure ample
field opportunities. We currently have 35 commitments. Please see the
web site at http://www.newsouthassoc.com/amda/index.html
