Minimum Requirements:     •Bachelor’s degree in architectural history, history, historic preservation, american studies, or related discipline with architectural history or historic preservation concentration or equivalent demonstrated abilities and / or experience.
• 6 years work experience in architectural history, architectural restoration, or historic preservation
• Research and writing skills
• Knowledge of Federal government and mid-Atlantic state regulations pertaining to cultural resources
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Valid driver’s license for occasional travel
Job Description:     The office of archaeology and historic architecture of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented architectural historian for immediate employment in the Burlington, NJ office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in architectural history. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including intensive level and reconnaissance level aboveground surveys, HABS/HAER recordation, MOA drafting, and National Register nominations.

Incumbent Responsibilities:

• Conduct field surveys to identify historic architectural resources
• Conduct extensive archival research using primary resources such as atlases, census records, and deeds
• Documentation of historic resources using state-required survey forms
• Report writing
• Consultation with state agencies
• Drafting MOA’s National Register nominations, Determinations of Eligibility, Determinations of Effect
• This position requires the flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of the URS
