Minimum Requirements:     Candidates must have a Masters in Anthropology, Archaeology, CRM or closely related field, with a focus on the prehistoric or historical archaeology of California, plus 6 years prior experience working on CRM projects. Must be RPA certified.

Experience must include: Demonstrated proficiency with GPS data collection equipment and associated software application; Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications; the ability to efficiently perform research, writing and data analysis; working in an environment with budget and scheduling requirements.
Job Description:     The candidate will direct and participate in a variety of activities that may include: archaeological archival research, survey, excavation, and construction monitoring in accordance with federal and State cultural resource regulations for assigned project studies. The candidate will work with other archaeologists, scientists, and engineers on a variety of projects from both government and private industry.

Archival research may include coordinating with CHRIS centers, Native American Heritage Commission, local Native American groups and other interested members of the public.

Archaeological survey and excavation will include resource documentation in the field through preparation of site records, photography, mapping, and use of GPS. The candidate must be capable of meeting the physical demands of survey and excavation duties including working in difficult terrain and inclement weather conditions. The candidate will be expected to travel within the State.

The candidate will complete required survey and excavation documentation, including site records, monitoring summaries, and excavation forms, and prepare technical compliance documents such survey and excavation reports, determinations of eligibility, findings of effect, and pertinent sections of Environmental Impact Reports/Statements.
