Hat Creek Archeological Technician (Crew Leader)

The Hat Creek Ranger District, on the Lassen National Forest in Northern California, anticipates hiring one temporary GS-7 archeological technician crew leader in 2012.  The pay rate is $18.59 per hour.  The employee will lead crew members in completing fieldwork and documentation (survey and site forms, GPS/GIS data, and data entry as needed).  Major fieldwork duties include archaeological survey, site monitoring, and site recording.

Qualifications for the position include a year's experience in the field at the GS-6 level (or other, similar experience), or at least one year's graduate education relevant to the position, or a combination of appropriate education and experience.  The first list will be requested by February 29, 2012:  applications prior to that time are encouraged.  Anticipated start dates are in May or early June.  The position is expected to last through September, and potentially up to six months.
