Cultural Heritage Officer -  Middlemount

Reporting into the Regional Environment Manager, this role will undertake cultural heritage assessments across various sites in Queensland.  This pivotal role will lead to improvements on additional structured approaches to cultural heritage clearances which will ensure the successful commencement of projects in the exploration, approval and production activities.

Your ability to undertake and supervise cultural heritage surveys and anthropological assessments will add exceptional value to an existing dynamic team.  Effectively engage and negotiate with traditional owners in relation to cultural heritage and native title agreements.

As most of the field work, native title and cultural heritage management plans are conducted on site, you will be required to reside in and around Middlemount or Moranbah.

As the successful applicant, you would be required to :

Possess relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in Archaeology or Anthropology.  Also possess knowledge of various protection Acts relevant to Qld Aboriginal Heritage.  Effectively communicate and negotiate with various levels of stakeholders and strategically build and strengthen relationships between Anglo American Metallurgical Coal and traditional owner groups.
