Description
The intern will gain practical experience in developing and using Museum educational resources, event programming and planning, audience research, and arts and information administration. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following; the creation and use of educational resources in Museum, how to utilise the Museum handling collections to teach about the past and to plan educational workshops and programmes that utilise these resources and audience research. On completion the intern will have attained skills in using a variety of computer programmes, customer service, event administration and organisation and report writing and communicating effectively. There are support structures in place for interns in accordance with the Museums Volunteer Policy.
Skills Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the ability to multi-task, be organised, meet deadlines and energetic. They should be willing to both learn and contribute ideas in a dynamic and creative environment. They should be comfortable working as part of a team but also have the capacity to work on their own and when required to use their initiative. Interns should be personable and have good communication skills. Computer skills are essential especially MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
Please Note:
This is an Internship. An allowance of €50 per week will be paid in addition to your current Social Welfare payment.See eligibility criteria above.
