Paid Curatorial/Archival Internships, Montgomery County Historical Society, Norristown
The Historical Society of Montgomery County was established in 1881 and incorporated in 1884. Its mission is to preserve the county's rich heritage and to tell the stories of the many people who have lived and worked there. The HSMC headquarters on DeKalb Street in Norristown houses its museum and library collections.
Description:
Curatorial/Archival Interns will work under the direction of professional staff to organize and document the collections at HSMC. Daily duties may include the cataloging, organization and storage of artifacts & archival material as well as working with PastPerfect & Microsoft Office software.
Qualification: Interns should be pursuing degrees in American History, Museum Studies, or related fields and have good written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
These are paid internships ($1500 stipend) in the Philadelphia suburban region. Length of internship and hours worked per week are flexible, but a minimum of 120 hours is expected.
