Motivated Field and/or Museum Technician (CA) travel/relocation possible.

    I am a grad of Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA though have lived my whole life in Southern California. I am currently looking for part/full time work. Eventually I would like to return to school and study cultural heritage preservation.
    I have experience in both the field and in the office with archaeology and have worked in California, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Alaska, Canada, and Belize. I have also worked at the Bowers Museum and Kidseum of Santa Ana for a year as well as various college art galleries on the east coast. Assistant Cultural Resources Specialist (May 2010-Now) Chambers Group, Santa Ana, CA

In this position I have completed a number of tasks both in and out of the field. These tasks have included survey covering numerous miles in the Great Basin and Southern areas of California, recording and updating both historic and prehistoric archaeological sites, stage III data mitigation excavation at both historic and prehistoric sites in Nevada, data organization and photo database management for a 400 mile interstate survey project, as well as writing and QAQC review of DPRs and IMAC archaeological forms for submission. I have also aided in preliminary research on a small number of projects.

Little John Archaeological Intern (Aug 2009) Beaver Creek, YT, Canada
            At Little John, I was a volunteer near the close of the season. While there I was in charge of my own excavation squares, completed artifact analysis, and worked numerous test pit excavations. The work also included travel and surveys of other sites near and across the Alaska-Canada border as well as ethnographic research with the White River First Nation.

 

Rio Bravo Archaeological Field School (June-July 2007) Orange Walk District, Belize
      As my first hands-on experience in archaeology, I learned to set up an excavation area, take soil samples, identify cultural and biological remains, how to record finds, and how to clean and analyze Post-classical Mayan artifacts. This field school also gave me experience in performing surface and topographical surveys throughout unmapped terrain with the use of GIS and a total data station.
