Balbithan 2013: Rediscovering a Lost Scottish Prehistoric Landscape

Balbithan, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 12th to 23rd August, 3rd Season

Ongoing research project into the multi-period prehistoric landscape at Balbithan Wood, Kintore, Aberdeen including, 3000 year old upstanding roundhouses, Mesolithic lithic scatters and the remains of a Neolithic standing stone.

The programme includes training and lectures in general archaeological fieldwork, topographic and management survey and tours of local sites, which include stone circles, hillforts and Pictish symbol stones. Fee for the two weeks is £650, includes all accommodation (individual rooms in student halls of residence), food and travel to and from site.
