I was part of last summer's field school at Fort Shirley. It was a really fun and productive experience, I really learned a lot. I would encourage anyone who needs to take a field school to sign up! There is lodging available, as well as free transportation to and from the site. We had participants ages 18-35 last summer, as well as non-Penn State students.

I also attended Penn States Field School last year.  It was a great place to start out, with plenty of artifacts and features, both dry and wet screening, and a few days of artifact cleaning as well.
