Opportunity Description:

We are currently seeking two individuals interested in volunteering between 02/01/13 and 03/31/13. These positions are primarily based at the headquarters building in Page, AZ. TIME REQUIREMENTS: 32 hours per week SUPERVISOR: Head of Cultural Resources DUTIES: Volunteers will support the implementation of the cultural resource program; organize and update the programs records, maps, reports, and files. Clean, catalog, label and curate the artifact collections. Assist with filing library research materials and books and creating inventory lists for archival collections. Volunteers may also work with the park archeologist to perform site surveys, document sites and artifacts. Individual must be able to work in an independent, effective and efficient manner on assigned tasks. The above are general tasks. Please keep in mind that projects underway at particular times of the year will vary. There will also be various field trip opportunities including boat trips, over flights, and hikes. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Be at least 18 years of age Ability to perform a variety of tasks including bending, crouching, stooping, lifting, or reaching to observe, collect, or record field data and must be able to lift at least 30 pounds on a regular basis Possess a valid state driver’s license Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to use computers
