Job Description

The Field Museum is pleased to announce the Anthropology Alliance's Summer Fieldwork Internship program. These internships will allow highly qualified candidates to conduct up to three months of fieldwork with a member of our world-class curatorial faculty.  Field Museum curators who will be conducting anthropological research this summer are:

    Dr. Gary Feinman: Investigations into Lambityeco's Central Precinct, Valley of Oaxaca, Mexico - early March through end of June.
    Dr. Ryan Williams: Excavations at Cerro Baul, Peru, Contisuyo Archaeological Field School - summer months.
    Dr. Alaka Wali: Field internship in Chicago to research manifestations of cultural heritage in a de-industrialized region on the Southeast side, and the relationship to social and ecological resilience - summer months.
    Dr. William Parkinson: Archaeological research in the K?r?s Region, Hungary - June. Archaeological fieldwork on the Mani Peninsula, Greece - July.


The Museum seeks highly qualified, dedicated, and energetic interns to assist our dynamic anthropological field research program.

    Must be first- or second-year graduate students in anthropology
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Previous fieldwork experience
    Demonstrated commitment to long-term anthropological research
    Interested candidates must seek a letter of support from the curator with whom they would like to work
