·         Working knowledge of eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth century American architectural styles including agricultural, commercial, industrial and transportation resources

·         Extensive experience identifying and evaluating resources while applying the National Register Criteria for Evaluation and following HABS/HAER/HALS standards

·         Skilled in historic property research methods and able to author descriptions, historic contexts and statements of significance

·         Able to conduct historic resource surveys, with photographs and log, and input them into Washington’s HPI database, or other SHPO-based forms/databases

·         Familiarity with Section 106, 4(f)  and NEPA review processes

·         Understanding of conservation science and technology

·         Well versed at the use of digital photography and able to photograph buildings, sites, structures and landscapes to best capture their significance
