·        Organize archaeology field notes into Microsoft Word, Excel and Access

·        Worked with one of the archaeologist on staff to analyze the Laundry at Shuter’s Hill located at the Washington Masonic Temple Memorial

·        The research was conducted to help archaeologist and historians understand the laundry process as well as an aspect of slaves lives on the East coast during the 18th century

·        Through our research, we were able to conduct information such as window placement, the work area (where laundry was washed), ceramics associated with the laundry, the trash pit and features that were the foundation of the laundry and 1850’s house that was later built on top of the site

·        Analyzed the information by looking into artifact placement and linking the feature and levels on a map of the site to help determine the placement and structure of the laundry yard

·        Used multiple maps to organize things such as a feature’s age, relationship and intrusions to one another, ceramics, hardware, clothing items, bones/ shells and personal items (tobacco pipes)

·        Summarized my research into a published paper to be presented at various conferences

·        Began working with another intern to create an education program based on the maps developed regarding the artifacts found on the laundry yard
