I am a recent college graduate with experience and interest in hands-on field archaeology, research, and laboratory work.  I have attended an accredited archaeological field school, and also have experience and facility with GIS software and database tools.

-          General labor in fabrication and final assembly of engineered finishing systems.

Aug- Nov, 2013          Maintenance Assistant – St. Louis County Parks Dept. (St. Louis, MO)

-          Performed various grounds maintenance, landscaping, and equipment maintenance functions.

Summer, 2012            Research Intern – Office of the State Archaeologist (Iowa City, IA)

-          Used a combination of archival materials, site reports and artifact collections to build a database of projectile point sites in Iowa.  Created shapefiles and maps to facilitate spatial analysis of sites.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

·         Completed 4-week Archaelogical Field School through Iowa’s Lakeside Lab with Dr. John Doershuk, Iowa State Archeologist. (June – July, 2014)

·         Proficient with spreadsheet and statistical software (Microsoft Excel, Minitab)

·         Familiar with ArcGis: editing and creating shapefiles, performing spatial analysis, and using basic ArcGis toolset.  Also familiar with ProCite database program.

·         Experienced with archaeological site reports and taking morphometrics of archaeological artifacts

·         Can perform basic carpentry and construction tasks (framing, laying roof decking, shingling)

·         Proficient with a variety of hand and power tools: circle saws, hand saws, drill presses, power drills, belt and orbital sanders, chainsaws, pressure washers; light construction equipment (Bobcats) and pneumatic tools (grinders, buffing wheels, pneumatic hammers)

·         Received an Emeritus Professors Research Fund scholarship from Grinnell College Anthropology Department to fund  research during the summer of 2012
