Job Summary    
The Paleontology/Archaeology Technician is primarily a field position and is engaged in paleontological and cultural resource projects throughout Los Angeles County in California.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts field work as assigned as part of a project.
Conducts and compiles background research.
Assists in the processing and analysis of finds.
Assists in writing regarding findings.
Assists in report preparation.
Assists in developing presentations for clients.
Minimum Requirements    1. Bachelor's degree in geology, anthropology/archaeology, geology, or a closely related field.
2. Requires a minimum of two years of archaeological field experience including reconnaissance, survey, testing and site mitigation in the western United States, California preferred.
3. A minimum of one year of experience in paleontological or archaeological monitoring is preferred.
4. Cross-training in archaeological field techniques preferred.
5. Ability to work nights and weekends preferred.
6. Experience jacketing, excavating and sorting fossils preferred.
7. Must be willing to travel locally to conduct field work.
8. Computer proficiency including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
9. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications    
3+ years of experience
