Arrow Energy is an integrated energy company, owned by two of the largest oil and gas companies in the world, Shell and PetroChina, Arrow Energy is looking for a Cultural Heritage Officer to join the team.
Reporting to the Team Lead Access Bowen, you will be responsible for facilitating cultural heritage assessments for Arrow’s exploration, appraisal and production activities in the Bowen Basin. This includes communicating with relevant land access staff, contractors and service providers with regards to logistics for the efficient implementation of Arrow’s cultural heritage management plan.
Duties and responsibilities of this role include:
Actively support Arrow’s commitment to occupational health, safety and the environment;
Responsible for ensuring Arrow’s continuous compliance with its agreements with relevant Aboriginal Parties;
Implement processes, policies, guidelines and strategies to ensure Arrow’s compliance with its statutory duty of care in respect of Aboriginal cultural heritage;
Implement all logistical arrangements with respect to all cultural heritage field operations;
Operate in accordance with Arrow’s corporate Indigenous Relations Strategy;
Maintain effective and enduring working relationships with relevant Aboriginal Parties and their technical advisers in the field;
To be successful in the role, you will have: 
Tertiary qualifications in archaeology or extensive experience conducting cultural heritage assessments.
Proven experience implementing field work programmes across a variety of locations with a diverse group of stakeholders.
Demonstrate a genuine appreciation and capacity to engage with Indigenous stakeholders.
The ability to interpret maps, understand tenure descriptions and experience in the use of GIS/GPS data management equipment and mapping software.
Understanding of cultural heritage regulatory frameworks.
