We are seeking a self-motivated, hard-working individual with a masters or doctoral degree in anthropology or archaeology and at least 5 years of archeological field experience in California CRM. The successful candidate will have experience directing archaeological crews on Phase I surveys, Phase II evaluations, Phase III data recoveries, and/or archaeological monitoring projects. The successful candidate will also have an excellent understanding of Section 106 and CEQA process. The individual in this position should be a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity. The candidate should be able to plan and develop projects or design activities which have significant impact on major company programs. The candidate should be able to organize, and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians. Although this position requires project management, this is not the sole focus of position. Experience writing the cultural resources sections of NEPA and CEQA documents is a plus. Experience marketing is a plus. Job responsibilities will include archaeological and historical background research, archaeological and architectural site searches and research, directing archaeological fieldwork, and preparing professional cultural resource management reports and site forms. Responsibilities also include assistance with developing proposal and cost estimates, and assessing applicable requirements and processes for cultural resource projects. Travel will be required.
Qualifications-
Master’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology and RPA certification
5+ years of professional archaeological experience
2+ years of experience in planning, managing and executing archeological investigations within the CRM context
Experience with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel and Adobe
Experience with ArcGIS a plus 
Proven ability to manage multiple field crews.
Excellent communication and client interaction skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills – a writing sample will be required
Candidates must have experience identifying and recording prehistoric and historic resources.
Preference will be given to local candidates.
