Job Summary: The Cultural Resources Assistant, Sr. performs specialized activities in the area of cultural resources research, including acting as a work leader over small teams of other archaeological support personnel involved in field or laboratory activities. This position is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the use of survey equipment, conducting cultural resources surveys in compliance with state and federal regulations, performing excavations, performing laboratory analyses, assembling data, and preparing technical reports. Must drive from site to site.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and at least two years of progressively responsible cultural resources research experience OR two years of college coursework in archaeology or a related field and one year of progressively responsible cultural resources research experience. Must have experience in archaeological field techniques, both survey and excavation. Experience associating land navigation/terrain. Experience with cartography. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. May be required to submit a medical statement from personal physician. 
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Valid U.S. driver's license.  Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.
