The primary duties of the Archaeologist are to conduct compliance-based archaeological investigations under the direction of a senior archaeologist, including surveys, evaluations, and data recoveries. Performs routine assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures. Projects have clear specified objectives and limited variables. Works independently on small projects or assists more senior staff on larger projects.

Qualifications
 
BA in Anthropology with a concentration in Archaeology; Archaeological field school or at least one year of experience in the CRM industry. Previous field archeological experience is preferred particularly experience with cultural resource projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. Strong preference will be given to local candidates to project sites (VA, MD, DE, DC). Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and GPS is required. Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills. Willingness to work under varied weather conditions. Position is less than full time in that there may be an intermittent work schedule depending on project assignments. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
