The Department of Anthropology at Appalachian State University invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month faculty position in cultural anthropology at the rank of assistant professor beginning August 2015. Candidates must have an active, ethnographic research program and demonstrated potential, in the form of publications and other scholarly activity. Candidates must be excellent teachers, willing to work closely with students. Geographic and topical specialization is open but preference will be given to candidates whose interests expand our current offerings. Candidates must be able to teach an ethnographic methods course. Ph.D. is required by the time of appointment.
