Archaeology Conference Videos

DougRM

Going to conferences can be very expensive and if it is a large conference they always schedule the two sessions you really want to see at the same time. Over the last few years I have recorded some presentations at some conferences and thought I would share them.

Will

does anyone know if there is an equivalent of the Recording Archaeology channel which focuses on archaeology in the United States? I've watched about 10 videos and they've all been based in the UK

(youtube searches for various terms only seem to turn up a bunch of stuff on 'secret archaeology' or amateurs hunting for artifacts...not exactly up to par with the informative videos here)

Hi Will,

Not that I am aware of. You could search for individual University department Youtube channels and see if they post any of their lectures. The Oriental Institute in Chicago posts their lectures https://www.youtube.com/user/JamesHenryBreasted they are really good, though the subject is the Middle East so probably not what you are looking for.

In terms of conferences I have filmed (mind you transportation is an issue and I am currently based in Scotland) CAA is an international conference and has some American Archaeology presentations- there was one on 3-D images in the Western US that I remember.

Also- I filmed some of last year's SHA in Seattle. Here are those videos-
