SEARCH is seeking a full time GIS Specialist to support projects for our energy, military and transportation clients. The GIS Specialist provides high quality maps, graphics, and other media for reports and proposals. The successful candidate will communicate in a professional and credible manner with peers, be highly organized, and possess excellent graphic skills and have an eye for design. This is a full time salaried position with a competitive compensation and benefit package. Applicants without a minimum of 3 years of full time GIS experience will not be considered.
Requirements:
Qualified candidates should possess BS in Geography, Computer Science, or Engineering. Degrees in History, Archaeology or “related fields” are acceptable with proper GIS work experience;
Detail-oriented, organized, able to work well on simultaneous tasks, and meet multiple deadlines;
Previous experience working within GIS databases;
Superior written and oral communication skills for creating and presenting data;
Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS 10.0;
Experience creating and editing ESRI shapefiles and geodatabase feature classes;
Experience georeferencing aerial photography and map imagery;
Experience with Trimble and Garmin GPS equipment and software;
Experience with additional graphics software, such as Adobe CS;
Experience with CADD software, such as AutoCad or Microstation;
Experience with Department of Defense Geodatabases / Data Models;
Preference given to those candidates with experience in cultural resource management;
Able to obtain government security clearances.

Hearing- Able to hear normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
Vision- Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to read/write/type on a computer and conduct research through multiple resources. Clear vision at 20 inches or less and distant vision at 20 feet or more.
Physical Strength-average office environment. Ability to sit or stand for period of time occasionally move up to 15 lbs.

Compensation is based upon education and experience.
