Field Technicians - Charlottesville, Virginia

Rivanna Archaeological Services, LLC (www.rivarch.com) is currently seeking qualified field technicians for a Phase II research project to begin in April 2015 on a prominent historic site in Albemarle County, Virginia. Position is temporary and is anticipted to last between 4 to 5 weeks. Job will require candidates to perform physical work commonly associated with archaeological investigations including but not limited to archaeological excavation, data recordation, field drawings, and screening of soils. Candidates must have a BA / BS in archaeology / anthropology or a closely related field, demonstrate experience in an archaeological fieldschool or in the CRM field. Individuals must have strong organizational skills, ability to work with colleagues, to analyze and evaluate archaeological information, and be able to complete work on schedule and in a satisfactory manner.

As a local project, Rivanna Archaeological Services is unable to contribute to lodging or per diem costs. Local and regional candidates are preferred.
