We are actively seeking part-time ARCHAEOLOGICAL FIELD TECHNICIANS for work based out of its Buffalo, NY location. 
The position of Archaeological Field Technician requires performing common tasks associated with archaeological investigations. These tasks include controlled excavation, data recordation, and plan view and profile drawing. The candidate will work closely with the Field Director to complete all field tasks as required by the specific contract. 
Essential duties include the following: 
• Controlled shovel test pit and block excavation. 
• Feature excavation. 
• Accurate note taking. 
• Artifact collection. 
• Plan view and profile drawings 
• Other duties may be assigned 
 
Qualifications
 
The minimum requirements for the position of Archaeological Field Technician include completion of a field school and a B.A. in Anthropology/Archaeology or closely related field is preferred. Non-degreed candidates will be considered if they can demonstrate successful completion of an archaeological field school and some knowledge of cultural resource management. The candidate should have basic knowledge of material culture and subsistence strategies of prehistoric peoples in the eastern United States, particularly in the Northeastern States. Microsoft Windows/Office software applications required. The employee may be required to conduct site visits and field activities at places and times where exposure to outdoor weather conditions is part of the working environment. Candidate must be able and available to travel and possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.
