Minimum Requirements:    •    Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (archaeology/anthropology)
•    Minimum two years of field and desk work and preparation of reports (work performed in graduate school may satisfy this requirement)
•    Or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience conducting Phase I, II, and III archaeological investigations
•    Ability to communicate clearly
•    Experience with conducting laboratory analysis of both prehistoric and historic material and with assisting in writing archaeological technical reports
•    Experience and knowledge in the use of GPS
•    Experience and knowledge of Federal government regulations and Middle Atlantic and New England state regulations concerning archaeological investigations
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel and Access)
•    Valid Driver's License with a good driving record and the flexibility to travel overnight and out of state for up to 3+ months at a time
•    Must have knowledge of basic field excavation techniques, ability to communicate clearly and precisely to subordinates, insure that crew members properly fill out field forms, and at times have the ability to perform extensive manual labor including excavation with shovels and moving buckets and wheelbarrows filled with dirt
•    Must be able to extensively perform bending, kneeling standing and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs
•    Must have a tolerance for working in outdoor environments, prolonged walking and standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions
•    Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

The Cultural Resource Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Archaeological Supervisor for temporary employment in the Burlington, New Jersey office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in cultural resources management, specific to conducting field investigations, artifact analysis and report preparation. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. Some of the projects the incumbent can look forward to include Phase I, II and III investigations in and around the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, West Virginia, eastern PA, Ohio and Virginia. However, assignments could also be made in the Northeast, Middle Atlantic and Southwest regions.
Incumbent Responsibilities:
•    Under the supervision of a Principal Investigator, manages crew chiefs and archaeological technicians during fieldwork; collects and inspects field records and artifacts.
•    Assists in report write up.
•    Manages small segments of large projects.
•    Moderate supervision on small projects.
•    Receives instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
•    May assist in determining schedule and budget requirements.
•    Help with obtaining subcontractor quotes.
•    Responsible for Quality Control of tasks or small segments of project products, as well as, products of technical and administrative staff assigned tasks by senior project professional.
•    May assist in preparing written project proposals.
•    Accompanied by a senior project professional, may participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, defend work, etc. in terms of specific project issues.
•    May assist Laboratory Manager with supervising artifact washing, identification, data input and analysis.
