compensation: DOE - Up to $20.00 + Benefits
The United Auburn Indian Community (UAIC), Located in Auburn, California, has an immediate need for a Cultural Resources Administrative Assistant. Under the direction of the Cultural Resource Manager performs duties as described below.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support to the Tribal Historic Preservation Committee
• Familiar with the CEQA/NEPA process, experience reviewing and compiling these documents is preferred
• Responsible for conducting data analysis and document/project research in support of environmental review projects
• Conduct document research, basic data analysis
• Prepare document templates and sections of environmental documents
• Integrate technical reports into environmental documents under supervision of project manager
• Conduct discretionary project review for large, complex projects. Write various reports and project comments.
• Processes archival collections including personal papers, maps, records, photos, museum items, and media
• Work shall include arrangement, preservation, description, and cataloging of all collections
• Process archival collections from a paper to digital format
• This will include scanning and digitizing documents
• Actively seeks out information from a variety of sources to enhance information concerning the collections and incorporates the documented information collected into the collections management systems
• Assists on-site researchers in the Archive Center reading room by identifying appropriate collections, pulling items, assisting in their use, and refilling them
• Answers staff and public inquiries by performing necessary research about archival holdings
• Other administrative duties as assigned.

KASOC's-Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, & Other Competencies:
• Knowledge of and experience with using multiple computer programs (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Adobe Photoshop)
• Knowledge of and experience with archive and museum related software tools in order to produce catalog records and finding aids for various types of archival collections including manuscripts, photos and media
• Ability to inventory, process and catalog archives including resources management records

Minimum Qualifications:
• Possess at least one year graduate education (18 semester hours) in environmental science, environmental planning, geography, ecology, or related field. Education and some experience required in CEQA, NEPA, environmental impact analysis, permit preparation, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrable technical writing ability, leadership skills, and excellent communication skills are essential.
• OR have completed training workshops, and courses through professional organizations
• Five (5) years of full-time experience at a level that is close or similar to the work of this job
• The experience includes activities such as natural and cultural resources management, assisting with clerical, administrative, coordination, travel and training arrangements, archival processing, preservation activities, and/or special historical materials

Preferred or Desirable Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Ability to apply environmental law and theory, principles, and professional practices, to natural and cultural resource management programs. Ability to inventory, process and catalog incoming correspondence including mail, reports, and resources management records.
