SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Delaware Department of Transportation is looking to fill a position in their Environmental Studies Office. The position will perform and manage Archaeological surveys. This position will have the duties of performing and or managing consultant services doing field work for Archaeological surveys and excavations, as well as Archaeological laboratory work, and technical report writing. This position must meet all federal standards and guidelines under 36CFR part 800 for Archaeology. The applicant must be familiar with Cultural Resource Management practices in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

SELECTIVE REQUIREMENT

Selective Requirements must be met in addition to the job requirements.  Applicants who do not possess the selective requirement will not be qualified.
  1. Possession of a Master's degree or higher in Archaeology/Anthropology.
     
  2. One Year of professional experience in Mid-Atlantic Prehistoric Archaeology.
     
  3. Knowledge of 36CFR part 800 and Archaeological Cultural Resource Management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Planner II
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. At least one year experience as a planner OR at least one year experience in a planning function.
  2. Experience in designing, collecting data, analyzing and presenting results of a complex planning project (complexity is to be determined based on variables such as discipline, population, fiscal impact, geographic area, social impact, planning horizon, public involvement, research and analysis, and the nature of the project team).
  3. Experience as a project manager on a less complex project (complexity is to be determined based on variables such as discipline, population, fiscal impact, geographic area, social impact, planning horizon, public involvement, research and analysis, and the nature of the project team).
