Archaeology Field Technician (NC)


Environmental Services, Inc. (ESI) anticipates having Archaeological Field Technician openings for several Phase I projects located throughout North Carolina. This work is expected to begin around mid-January and could last up to eight weeks or more.  These are temporary hourly positions; hours may vary depending on project-specific workload.  Preference is given to applicants living within a one hour radius of Raleigh, NC.  The projects will only pay for drive time to and from the Raleigh, NC office to the project location(s).  Any additional travel expenses will be the applicant’s responsibility.  Applicants must demonstrate prior CRM fieldwork experience (at least two years), particularly at the Phase I level, and possess at minimum, a B.A. in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field.

 The pay rate for the position is based on CRM experience (typically $12.00–$15.00/hour) for this temporary assignment.  Lodging (single occupancy) and per diem are provided for work days. Because of the temporary nature of this position, benefits are not included.  The average 10 hour work day will consist of excavation of shovel tests as well as 1-x-1 meter test unit excavations.  A strong work ethic, good attitude, and the ability to work well with others is essential.  ESI is a drug-free workplace; applicants will be subject to a drug screen and criminal background check prior to being hired.  Previous applicants are encouraged to re-submit their information.  Please email a curriculum vitae and a list of three professional references with contact information to:
