Lab Techs Needed for Amazing SW Artifacts ASAP - Phoenix, AZ

PaleoWest is looking to immediately fill archaeological lab technician positions out of our Phoenix, Arizona office to process an incoming collection. The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or another applicable field and have experience conducting lab work in the Southwest. Applicants should have a familiarity with Arizona State Museum laboratory standards for cleaning and cataloging artifacts from the field and a willingness to work independently. Knowledge of standard techniques for cleaning ceramics, lithics, shell, and faunal bone, as well as processing of pollens and flotation samples is strongly preferred.

This is a temporary position, lasting up to two months and beginning immediately. Pay will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience. The candidate should be fit, resourceful, dedicated, and organized, and will work under the supervision of the Lab Director or Field Director throughout the project. The candidate should feel comfortable standing for long periods, lifting boxes up to 50 lbs, and be comfortable moving collection boxes up and down stairs to our lab facility. Please submit a current CV and brief letter of intent/personal statement to work@paleowest.com, with “LabTechnician – Phoenix” in the subject line.
