Archaeological Field Technician (Temporary)



Michael Baker International has immediate openings for 3 Archaeological Field Technicians in DeSoto County, Mississippi near the Tennessee border. Preference will be given to qualified individuals who live within five hours of the project area.
This work is anticipated to begin in early to mid-February and could last 1-2 weeks. The pay rate for the position is $15.00/hour for this temporary assignment. Lodging and per diem are provided. Because of the temporary nature of this position, benefits are not included.
The average 10-hour working day for the Archaeological Field Technician will consist of walkover and the excavation of shovel test probes. Field technicians will physically exert themselves by walking and carrying equipment, including hand tools, a shovel, and a portable artifact screen.


Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or a related field, along with a Field School or a related experience.
