Women in Archeology Internship at the Center for American Archeology, Kampsville, IL


The Center for American Archeology (Kampsville, IL) is accepting applications to fill four positions for the 2016 Women in Archeology Internship. This program, funded by the Monticello College Foundation, is for women students (undergraduate and graduate) and archeologists with at least 6 weeks of field and lab experience. Interns will work with CAA staff as key supervisory and teaching staff for CAA summer excavation and public archeology programs, including High School Field School, Adult Field School, Family Dig It Weekends, and Archeology Day.

Dates: May 29-August 6

Compensation: $2000, plus room and board (see website for details)

Who May Apply: Women currently enrolled in college as an undergraduate or graduate student, those who will begin their graduate education during the 2016-2017 academic year, and those who are early in their career (received their BA within the past four years) are eligible. Only advanced undergraduates (junior & senior standing) will be considered. Applicants should be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license; those who will turn 21 during the summer are not disqualified from applying.
