Harris Environmental Group, Inc.’s Tacoma, WA office is seeking an archaeological field director to assist with archaeological investigations in Yakima, WA at Yakima Training Center (YTC). Archaeological/historical archaeological experience in the Pacific Northwest and experience at YTC is required. Must be able to work as part of a cohesive team.

Start date is April/May and project will be full-time for a minimum of 2 months in the field and several weeks afterwards. Responsibilities include assisting in supervising 3 crew members, report writing, interaction with government client, interaction with Project Director, Principal Investigator, and field crew, identification of artifacts.

Qualifications:

·   MA/MS Degree in archaeology, anthropology, or related field

·   Experience in Pacific Northwest archaeology/historical archaeology

·   Demonstrated experience with rock art, human burials, cairns, rock features

·   Knowledge of terrain found at YTC

·   Knowledge of military training and mission at YTC

·   Exceptional technical writing skills and a record of completing and editing technical reports on deadlines

·   Experience with Section 106 compliance, NEPA, and other relevant compliance processes

·   Ability to work independently, as well as with a team
