Archaeological Field Director, Yakima, WA

Harris Environmental Group, Inc.’s Tacoma,
WA office is seeking an archaeological field director to assist
with archaeological investigations in Yakima, WA at Yakima Training Center
(YTC). Archaeological/historical archaeological experience in the Pacific
Northwest and experience at YTC is required. Must be able to work as part of a
cohesive team.
Start date is April/May and project
will be full-time for a minimum of 2 months in the field and several weeks
afterwards. Responsibilities include assisting in supervising 3 crew members, report
writing, interaction with government client, interaction with Project Director,
Principal Investigator, and field crew, identification of artifacts.
Qualifications:
·
MA/MS Degree in archaeology,
anthropology, or related field
·
Experience in Pacific Northwest
archaeology/historical archaeology
·
Demonstrated experience with rock
art, human burials, cairns, rock features
·
Knowledge of terrain found at YTC
·
Knowledge of military training and
mission at YTC
·
Exceptional technical writing skills
and a record of completing and editing technical reports on deadlines
·
Experience with Section 106
compliance, NEPA, and other relevant compliance processes
·
Ability to work independently, as
well as with a team
