ArchaeoGIS Specialist needed in San Diego, Ca.

Brian F. Smith and Associates’ (BFSA) San Diego office is seeking a Graphic Artist/ “ArchaeoGIS” Specialist.

The successful candidate will be able to provide a suite of professional Cartographic solutions utilizing our GIS Capabilities to clients. Typical responsibilities include: creating high-end analytical and cartographic map products from utilizing various data types and sources including field notes, photos, satellite imagery, aerial photography; performing geo-spatial analysis for maps and/ or reports.

Preferences:

An archaeological background, proficiency using GPS data post-field, and ability to develop innovative, information-rich, error-free, and beautiful graphics is required. Strong project management and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision. Ability to track and meet scheduled project deadlines with short time frames. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of GIS software including MapInfo, ArcView, ESRI products, and AutoCAD Map, as well as Adobe Graphics generation programs and Microsoft Office applications. Applicant must be a team player with excellent communication skills.
