POSITION OPENING

TIERRA RIGHT OF WAY SERVICES, Albuquerque, New Mexico

 

Tierra Right of Way Services is seeking a Project Archaeologist for our Environmental Planning and Cultural Resources Division in New Mexico. 

 

Position Summary

This is an hourly position that may transition into a full-time position.  The successful candidate will conduct cultural resources management projects under the supervision of the cultural resources project manager.  Responsibilities include background research and literature review; planning and leading field surveys, testing, monitoring, and data recovery projects; and report writing. Tierra maintains dedicated GIS, editing, and IT departments which support this position.

 

The successful candidate will work out of our Albuquerque office, with partial telecommuting options available.   

 

Minimum Qualifications

·       Meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for professional archaeologist (MA/MS or PhD in anthropology or archaeology)

·       3+ years of supervisory CRM experience, preferably in New Mexico

·       Understanding of Federal and New Mexico regulatory settings including NMAC 4.10.15–17, NHPA Section 106, and NEPA 

·       Demonstrated report writing experience

·       Ability to conduct fieldwork in physically demanding conditions
