The incumbent serves as an Museum Specialist in the Northeast Museum Services Center (NMSC) which has responsibility for providing support to the Northeast Region (NER) parks in the management of their  museum collections.

Duties
The incumbent serves as a Museum Specialist in the Northeast Museum Services Center (NMSC) having responsibilities for providing support to Northeast Region Parks (NER) in the management of their museum collections. The incumbent provides a full range of curatorial support work for the national parks in the NER, primarily serving as a collections management specialist.  In addition, serves as lab manager for the archeology cataloging program., The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the archeology processing lab, a specialized facility within the Northeast Museum Services Center for the identification, processing, cataloging and housing of archeology collections.
The collections of the Northeast Region comprise the largest group of museum collections in the National Park Service, numbering some 31 million objects with approximately 8 million uncataloged.
