Field Technician Position-Seminole Tribe of Florida

This is specialized work of the historic preservation program for the Seminole Tribe of Florida Tribal Historic Preservation Office. The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing systematic investigations of possible archeological sites, including excavation, field data collection and data recording. Work also includes extensive use of GIS and GPS software to record data and produce report quality maps. The Field Technician is responsible for completing technical archaeological reports. Personnel in this position work closely with Tribal community members to document sites and the history of the STOF reservation lands. Additionally, the position will perform work in the archeological laboratory such as cleaning, counting and cataloging artifacts and ecofacts. The incumbent is required to report to any one of the six (6) reservations depending on daily scheduled project work. This position is a full time, permanent, hourly position.
