Crew chief and 3 field techs needed for construction monitoring in San José, CA

AHC

Archaeological/Historical Consultants (A/HC) is seeking a crew chief and field technicians for an upcoming construction monitoring project in San José, California, scheduled to begin the week of January 23. The site is known to contain several historic archaeological features dating from the 1830s to 1900, with limited quantities of prehistoric material as well. We expect that fieldwork will last at least 3 weeks, with a similar amount of laboratory time afterward. Unfortunately, we do not have a per diem or hotel budget for this job, but can offer wages from $25-45/hour depending on experience.

Field technicians should have at least a BA in archaeology and a record of supervised field experience. Crew chiefs should have a degree in archaeology and demonstrated record of supervising archaeological excavations. Experience with historic archaeological sites in California preferred. Please send expressions of interest, with resumé, to daniel.shoup@ahc-heritage.com. We look forward to working with you!
