This position is located in the High Desert District of Wyoming in the Rawlins Field Office. The Rawlins Office encompasses 11.5 million acres in south-central Wyoming and includes the eastern third of SweetwaterCounty in addition to all of Carbon, Albany and Laramie counties. Within that area, the Rawlins Field Office is responsible for the management of 3.5 million acres of public lands and approximately 4.5 million acres of federal mineral estate.

Duties
You will research files and records to obtain information about sites scheduled for cultural inventories. You will review reference material to aid in identification of artifacts recovered during inventories. You will determine possible sources of information and scope of research required to verify information accuracy. You will plan and carry out non-complex cultural resource field inventories. 
To perform the duties of this position requires the use of motor vehicles. In most cases this will be a 4-wheel drive vehicle or ATV. The work requires some physical exertion such as bending and walking in terrain that is rough, rocky, mountainous and densely vegetated You will be required to lift and carry equipment necessary to efficiently perform the work of the position.
