This course is aimed at students and people interested in archaeology who wish to participate with us in this archaelogical course in the medieval castle of Nogalte, located in the center of Puerto Lumbreras in Murcia (Spain). Here you will be able to study first hand a castle model Medieval, its structure and framework.

The castle of Nogalte (Puerto Lumbreras, in the province of Murcia) is a medieval Islamic fort built around the 13th century. It is located next to the urban center of Puerto Lumbreras, in a mountainous spur of the southern edge of the mountain range of La Torrecilla, in a strategic position from which several outcrops of water and diverse natural ways are dominated. Towards the East, the road of Lorca connects through the valley of the river Guadalentín until Murcia. To the North, through the ravine of Nogalte, towards Granada. And to the West, towards Almería crossing the valley of the Almanzora. It is of Cultural Interest according to the Second Additional Provision of Law 16/1985 of June 25.

The Archeology course we offer is a comprehensive training course in fundamental aspects such as stratigraphy, GIS, photogrammetry, CAD, topography, field drawing, inventory of materials, etc.

The working system will be divided between mornings and afternoons, in order that students go through each and every phase of the archaeological excavation and are able to acquire the basic knowledge and methodology necessary to undertake any archaeological intervention.
