On-Call Architectural Historian

Our team includes archaeologists, architectural historians, wildlife biologists, environmental scientists, plant ecologists, and administrative personnel. We have a long history of working with federal, state, and local agencies throughout the Southwest, and our clients benefit from the collective experience of our diverse group of specialists.

Harris Environmental is seeking an on-call, project-based architectural historian for ongoing and upcoming cultural resources projects. Work will primarily include report writing, with a potential for future fieldwork in California. Candidates do not need to be based in California, but should have experience working with historic structures in this state and experience completing California DPR forms. Report writing and other office tasks can be completed remotely or in our Tucson, Arizona office, if the candidate is local to this area.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. in a related field (M.A. or M.S. and SOI-qualified preferred)
  • Experience working as an architectural historian (California experience preferred)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent technical writing ability
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Pay is dependent on experience and education.
