Archaeological Project Manager


TRC has immediate openings for a full-time, benefited archaeological Project Manager in our Southeastern US cultural resource program. This position would be based in our Norcross, Georgia, or Nashville, Tennessee offices.


This person will be responsible for management and often direct supervision of all types of archaeological projects, ranging from small local surveys through large, multi-year and multi-state energy projects. Duties may include marketing; proposal development; client coordination; regulatory and tribal consultation; development and implementation of research designs, work plans, and schedules; fieldwork; and analysis and reporting.


The Project Manager will work closely with other TRC archaeologists, environmental staff, permitting specialists, and managers within TRC’s Planning, Permitting, and Licensing practice. We are looking for an individual with enthusiasm about his/her work, and a strong commitment to client service and technical excellence. Successful candidates will enjoy the challenges of working alongside others in a fast-paced environment, and of helping to develop effective solutions to both expected and unexpected project challenges. The position will require some travel away from the home office. Employment with TRC is subject to the successful completion of a background check and drug screen.


Qualified candidates will possess the following:

·         Advanced degree in Anthropology or related field (must meet Secretary of the Interior’s guidelines).

·         Five or more years of progressive experience supervising archaeological projects in the Southeastern U.S.

·Excellent interpersonal communication and management skills

·         Experience with state and federal agency and tribal consultation, and an excellent reputation within the professional and regulatory communities

·         The ability to work closely with engineers and other technical specialists as part of a larger project team.

·         Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, total station, etc) and GIS applications and software

·         A commitment to TRC’s quality and safety goals and successful technical report and proposal writing experience
