Intensive Summer Course in Paleolithic Methods and Iberian Prehistory 2017, Spain

Cueva del Angel (Lucena, Córdoba) and Cueva de Bedmar (Bedmar, Jaén), southern Spain.

One session: 1750 €
Two sessions: 3000 €

Prices Include: insurance, accommodation, 3 meals/day (7 days/week), pick-up and drop-off from nearby transportation hubs, practicum, conferences and lectures.

 This summer course takes place in Andalusia, Southern Spain, at two Medium-Upper Paleolithic and Neolithic sites (Cueva del Angel and Bedmar) where Acheulean, Mousterian, Neolithic and Chalcolithic industries are represented. The purpose of this summer course is to train participants in different methodologies applied to Paleolithic sites including field survey, excavation techniques, sediment processing and processing of archaeological material. This course includes lectures given by Professors, PhDs, and researchers specializing in Quaternary studies from different fields. The course also includes visits to other relevant archaeological and historical sites around Andalusia. 

The course is organized by the Foundation for Research in Prehistory and Human Evolution (in Spanish: Fundación Instituto de Investigación de Prehistoria y Evolución Humana) or FIPEH.
