About the Agency
Do you want to work for a contemporary water management agency whose mission is to assist in meeting the increasing water demands of the West while protecting the environment and the public’s investment? Join the staff of the Bureau of Reclamation as a Student Trainee (Archaeology).
This is a temporary student internship opportunity under the Pathways Program. The major objective of the Pathways Program is to employ students, giving them a chance to work in a Federal agency and resume or continue their education without interruption caused by financial pressure. Students appointed may work part-time while school is in session and full-time (depending upon the needs of the agency) when students are on a vacation period or whenever the school is officially closed.
The selected student will be appointed at the GS-04 ($14.07 per hour) federal pay grade level, which is determined by meeting the following qualification requirements.
This position is located with the Bureau of Reclamation, Pacific Northwest Region, Land Resources Office, in Boise, Idaho. For more information about location visit:

Travel and relocation expenses will not be paid by the Department of the Interior. Any travel, transportation and relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty at the location designated will be the responsibility of the selected employee.
Assist in the preparation of documents required by the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
Enter data into an electronic system for the accounting and management of museum property.
Draft museum property management plans for higher-level review.
Catalogue items of museum property. May include photographing and importing digital images, organizing and filing associated records.
Assist with performing archeological surveys, annual museum property inventories, and updating geographic spatial data.
