Archaeological Field Monitor - Lake Tahoe

Aspen Environmental Group seeks one (1) qualified archaeological field monitor with prior experience working in the northern California Sierra Nevada region for a Lake Tahoe area project beginning in mid-May 2017. Aspen’s multidisciplinary staff provides environmental compliance, impact assessment, and mitigation services for a wide spectrum of energy and infrastructure projects (aspeneg.com).

The successful candidate will have extensive experience monitoring construction activities and will be comfortable working in proximity to sensitive cultural resource areas. OSHA trench safety training and experience with historic structures is a plus. Applicants based in northern California or western Nevada preferred.

This is a temporary full-time position which includes per diem. Schedule will be 6 days a week, 10 hours a day. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Minimum requirements include: BA or BS in Anthropology, Archaeology, or other closely related field, and at least 3 years of professional experience in California CRM. More senior applicants are encouraged to apply.

Please send resume, cover letter, and 3 professional references to sactojobs@aspeneg.com. Include “Lake Tahoe Monitoring” in the subject line.
