EDUCATION

·         Monroe County Community College: 2012-2015.

·         B.S. in Anthropology at Eastern Michigan University: 2015-present (expected graduation: Dec. 2017).

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Has experience with using a compass, maps, and pacing for distance when performing Phase I shovel test surveys.

·         Can excavate shovel tests; recognize and record stratigraphy, and collect and record proveniences for artifacts in the field.

·         Ability to set up Phase II test units and horizontal broad excavation units in a quick and accurate manner.

·         Can properly excavate test units and broad horizontal block units; can identify and record stratigraphy changes; can excavate in controlled levels.

·         Knows how to recognize and record artifacts in the field; wash, label, and prepare artifacts for curation and analysis.

·         Can identify artifact material categories; recognize types within each material category using functional, descriptive, and chronological approaches.

·         Has experience with using Microsoft Excel ® for data entry.

·         Has strong research and interpretation skills.

Willing to relocate if necessary. 

FIELD, LAB, AND RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

·         Volunteer archaeological fieldwork and lab work at the Steltzriede Farm site in Saginaw, Michigan: test unit excavations. May 2017.

Presented research and analysis at the Undergraduate Symposium at Eastern Michigan University: Regional Interaction and Pottery at a Prehistoric Late Woodland Site in Southeast Michigan. March 2017. 

·         Volunteer archaeological fieldwork at the Hicks School Site in Brighton, Michigan: test unit excavations and shovel test pit survey. August-September 2017.

·         Experienced four weeks of training in Cultural Resource Management at Eastern Michigan University Field School: reconnaissance surveys, test unit excavations, and broad horizontal block excavation. June 2016.

·         Experienced one week of training in artifact analysis and processing at Eastern Michigan University. July 2016.

·         Experienced six weeks of training in Cultural Resource Management at Monroe County Community College: test unit excavations. June 2014.

CURRENT AND PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT

Farm labor: taking care of animals, milking cows, birthing cows, cleaning, and the training/supervising of new employees. Store employee: customer service, store upkeep and cleaning, cashier, stocking shelves, packaging new merchandise, and the training/supervising of new employees.
