Principal Investigator- McKinney Texas


Integrated Environmental Solutions, LLC is a small woman-owned business that specializes in providing natural and cultural resource planning services, ecological restoration and revegetation services, and NEPA documentation.  IES is seeking to hire a full-time archeological principal investigator to join our consulting firm. 


hold a Master’s degree that would be able to meet the Secretary of the Interior qualified standards for Archeology;

have a minimum of five years consulting experience at increasing levels of responsibility with two of those years within the state of Texas;

display a thorough understanding of field methodologies utilizing standards and procedures for obtaining project approval from the Texas Historical Commission or for Section 106 of the NHPA related projects;

possess a thorough understanding of cultural resources regulations and requirements;

possess knowledge, skills, and abilities pertaining to other cultural resource fields outside their area of expertise;

have proven experience working independently with little supervision;

display the willingness to work long hours under less than desirable weather, topographic, and environmental settings; proven experience coordinating directly with state and federal agencies;

demonstrated abilities related to client management;

be listed as an author or contributing author for regulatory compliance cultural resources reports;

have a working knowledge of ArcGIS; and

have a valid driver’s license.


This position will require approximately 30 percent fieldwork and 70 percent office related tasks.  Role of the selected candidate will include, but not limited to, developing methodologies for cultural resources investigations, conducting and leading field investigations, conducting in-depth background and archival research, preparing agency coordination letters and technical reports, generating ArcGIS based maps and figures, and conducting client/agency coordination.

This posting is for an hourly based, full-time position with benefits that include 100 percent employer paid employee health care and dental coverage, accrued personal time off, participation in a SIMPLE IRA plan with employer match, company cell phone, and gym membership.  Compensation will be competitive and based upon experience.
